More about MDWC
MDWC is split in a Norwegian and Tanzanian NGO:
The Norwegian NGO (org nr 919 936 185) was established in 2017 to improve the living standards for the Maasai living in Tinga Tinga. This includes school, women group, hospital, lodge and other activities to empower the community. The construction of the school is almost done. At the moment we have 280 pupils from baby class up to class 4. The lodge is under construction, and will hopefully be finished to receive guests by the end of 2022 or early 2023.
The Norwegian NGO is responsible for all fundraising and planning of the projects.
The Tanzanian INGO is operating locally in Tinga Tinga. Focus is on formalities (permits, contracts etc), construction follow up, staffing (approx 15 employees now), running the school and lodge - and in the future the hospital.ts.
The project
In addition, basic emergency room is much needed. Very often maasais remain un-treated, or will only have access to the "traditional medicine". An acceptable ER is well out of reach (distandce and expences) for most maasai in Tinga Tinga. There should also include a lab room and medical waste and garbage room. The hospital could be expanded to include a medical ward, surgical ward, childrens ward, ICU, operating theater, X-ray, CT- scan, and ultrasound.
Staffhouses are also needed (single, double and family size houses).

The project is for the native maasai people in Tinga Tinga, Tanzania. The maasai people are well known for their Tinga Tinga is located in a rural area west of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Depending og the hospital sevice available, it will cover a population of more than 15.000. The maasai are among the best known local populations internationally due to their residence near the many game parks of the African Great Lakes, and their distinctive customs and dress. But the rural maasai people are a very low priority regarding education and healt care in Tanzania, and unfortunately in many ways a neglected and discriminated minority.
